Morgan Shingle, CGP, LCDC, LCSW-S
Morgan Shingle, LCSW-S, CGP, LCDC, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Supervisor and Certified Group Psychotherapist in private practice in Austin, TX. She works with adults and couples from a relational, psychoanalytic framework, often over many years, using an attachment-focused, depth-oriented approach to help clients understand the roots of their distress and build fuller, more connected lives.
She has a particular interest in helping people become cycle breakers, working through the patterns and relationships they inherited so they can choose something different for themselves and the people they love. Her clinical career began at an intensive outpatient program for men in early recovery, and she later worked as a psychiatric social worker in the emergency department at Dell Medical School and at Therapy Austin before moving into private practice.
Morgan is passionate about ongoing learning and teaching in psychoanalytic therapy. She earned her MSSW from the Steve Hicks School of Social Work at The University of Texas at Austin and holds additional training certificates in Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Level 1), OCD treatment, the treatment of narcissistic abuse, and eating disorder treatment. She considers herself a lifelong learner and participates in multiple monthly psychoanalytic consultation groups with mentors who have paved the way. She has guest lectured at UT on coexisting psychiatric and substance use disorders and currently serves as Secretary on the board of Austin Psychoanalytic.
